Rich retired from the United States Navy in 1975, and again in 1994 he retired from Vitro Corporation, where he was employed as a Senior Programmer Analyst in their Information Center department.

Rich served as President of the Capital PC User Group Inc. As well as serving in many other capacities, including chairing the Software Library. In 1982 He was one of the original 23 people who founded CPCUG and he never gave up. He is remembered for conducting the shortest and most productive Board meetings most members had ever attended. Rich is a member of CANU as well as WACUG. He really needs a life

He is considered an "expert" in PC hardware and software. He has conducted numerous well attended seminars and training courses. He used to run a FREE public Bulletin Board system from March of 1982 until 1995. Rich wrote his own bulletin board software and also assisted in developing the most popular free bulletin board software program in the world (RBBS-PC) He also has been credited with assisting Andrew Fleugelman (the originator of the FREEWARE concept) in his development and testing of the original PC Communications program PC-TALK.

Rich, for over 10 years wrote randomly a computer advice column for the Capital PC User Group's monthly magazine, the Monitor. It was called "Rich's Ramblings" which proved a very popular part of the magazine. He has attended COMDEX and the Fall APCUG events for too many years to remember. (1983 was the first COMDEX with well over 23,000 attendees) A couple of these years he was responsible for coordinating the Round Table(RT) discussions which always have been a hit at the APCUG fall event. Before that, he led RT discussions on the advantages of proper (and cheaper) USPS mailings for UG magazines. Through the years he participated in many other RT's.

He operated a free public Bulletin Board system from March of 1982 until 1995, which he gave up when the Internet came into favor.
